From lush greenery that hosts tropical birds and animals to a vibrant environment that pulls everybody in, Brazil is a place that’s made for vacations. Whether you’re chilling in the Brazilian sun or soaring over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is definitely an epic location for tourists and sounds like fun.

But more often than not, plans can take an unpleasant turn, especially if you get bad weather. Imagine going to Brazil for the sun but all you see is thunderstorms. Or maybe you go for pleasant winds, but the heat gets too much for you. To avoid such issues, here are the best times to visit Brazil:

Best Months: Tourist Seasons

Since Brazil is a tropical place, chances are a lot of people are hitting it up in early summer.

Peak tourist season is November to March, because that’s when the temperature is perfect, and you can actually celebrate a lot of festivals. However, this is also when the prices hike a bit because of tourist crowds, so if you’re on a lighter budget, head for other seasons.

March Onwards, the country witnesses lower tourist crowds because these are the months when the sun sits a little low and rain starts to fall. You’ll find heavier rainfall in April, May, and June, which make for humid conditions. If your hair frizzes a lot or you’re simply not a rain-lover, you’ll probably avoid these months.

September and October are generally considered shoulder seasons, but you can head there for a cosy environment.

Seasons and Weather

Summer

In summer, the maximum temperature is around 30°C and the minimum temperature is around 20°C. Summer gets very hot and the heat can get difficult to bear for some people; so, if you don’t mix well with the heat or sweat easily, summer isn’t for you. However, this is also the perfect time to get that tan, so it’s travelers’ choice!

Fall

Fall brings cosier temperatures; the highest is still around 30°C and the lowest around 18°C, but you’ll feel pleasant winds streaking across the country. Fall also catches mild rain so you’ll be pleased to witness cloudy and sunny days.

Winter

If you hate the cold that seeps into your bones, you’ll love Brazil’s winter. Winter is still relatively warm and witnesses 17°C as the lowest and 25°C the highest temperature, but you’ll find winter pleasant.

Spring

Temperatures don’t shift much in spring; the highest temperature is 30°C and the lowest is 20°C but spring is also the time most tourists head out to Brazil.

What Season Suits You Best

If you’re looking for a specific time to visit, don’t worry; here’s all the details!

Budget Travelers

If you’re low on cash but would love a little vacay, you should visit during May, June, July, August, and September. These aren’t peak months, so you’ll find a lot of budget friendly options when it comes to hotels, food, and transport.

Extrovert Travelers

If you love making friends and partying all day, Brazil’s peak season is the best for you. Festivals, celebrations, carnivals, and more are Brazil’s expertise and should suit you just fine.
